Sustainability Policy
Soltius recognises that organisations today have a responsibility to behave in a sustainable manner. This policy outlines the steps Soltius is taking as a responsible corporate citizen to minimise and mitigate the impact of our business activities.
Travel
As an SAP service provider to clients nationwide, and with offices in both Auckland and Wellington, Soltius’ largest impact on sustainability is as a result of travel, both to and from client sites and between the two offices.
To minimise this impact, Soltius and its staff will:
- Use Soltius consultants for engagements in their own cities as much as possible
- Encourage video and teleconferencing as an alternative to face to face meetings
- Choose hybrid or economy car rentals wherever possible
- Use Green Cabs when available.
Power consumption
Soltius will:
- Switch all computers, lights and printers off when not in use
- Provide all staff with modern laptop with LCD monitors, which consume 75 percent less power and are less of a liability on disposal than CRT monitors.
Office consumables waste and equipment replacement
Soltius will:
- Email all invoices and statements unless specifically requested by the client
- Recycle all confidential and fully re-used paper
- Recycle office toner cartridges
- Encourage the use of Microsoft Word’s tracking features to edit and share documents electronically
- Give preference to sustainable and/or recycled office consumable products wherever available
- Give preference to suppliers and manufacturers with sustainability policies when replacing office equipment
- Recycle wherever possible using recycling bins for paper, glass, plastic and tin in the Auckland and Wellington offices.
